Are We Melungeon?

My own interest in this is that I knew that somewhere in my family past there was "something different" and I could never put a finger on it. One Bullock relative died in Whitley Co. Ky, and is listed as "mixed" ancestry. I generally chalked it up to "M" as being male and the person stuck it on the wrong part of the form, now I'm not so sure, but I also have no proof of any of the families listed as having Melungeon ancestry are related to my direct lineage.

I get about 6 e-mail’s s a year about this person being Native American or that person being Cherokee. As far as I know, no they were not. I have checked with an English Bullock, and we seem to have the same traits on this side of the pond and that side also. So for now my pet theory is that our ancestor that came into England with the Roman Legion had these traits, and we have them today from them being passed from generation to generation, and both G2 and I haplogroups have these traits.

So maybe we are, and maybe we are not, it's up to you, make your own call.
